Are we the right pet care company/dog walking service for you?

Unlike some other pet care services, we are very selective about our clientele. After all, we are a very tight knit family/community of like minded pet pawrents and we aim to attract people with similar values.

There are plenty of dog walkers that you can hire that will take your dog out for excercise or potty breaks and there is nothing wrong with that. If that is all you are looking for, then i’ll be the first to say we might not be the service for you.

At Liberty Pooch, you are our extended family and your dogs are our kids. We will be your pet’s favourite Aunties and Uncles who will love and care for them as much as you do.

If you are the kind of pet pawrent that considers your dog as more than “just a pet”, wants the “best of the best” for them in every aspect of their life, is not afraid to put in the work day and day out and want to raise a happy, healthy, confident, well behaved furry family member - Liberty Pooch is the Service FOR YOU.

We are passionate about helping our pets live their very best life - whether that be providing them with extra cuddles or suggestions around nutrition, socialization, and training. We pay attention to your dogs every need and stay connected with you so that we are aligned in the care of your fur baby. Last but not least, we provide you support and an amazing extended community to help you every step of the way.

Liberty Pooch Pet Services will make the pet ownership experience much more enjoyable and your pet will be the envy of all your friends.

Like most boutique services, not everybody requires this level of customized service, but if you are looking for a company that goes above and beyond just dog walking Liberty Pooch is the place for you.

My 4 key components of dog training

What I have learned over my 8 years of working with puppies, shy, anxious, and reactive dogs is that these are the 4 most important components involved in training your dog:

  1. Choice

  2. Trust

  3. Empathy

  4. Patience

This is my approach to dog training. When I have more time I will elaborate, but for now let me share this little video I made of one of my more recent success stories. Meet Mika!

LIBERTY POOCH TURNS 8!!!

LIBERTY POOCH TURNS 8! Today is also Poyo's 11th birthday! Poyo and his mom, my cousin Michele, were the main catalyst for me making the decision 8 years ago to leave my job and try my hand at dog walking. I still remember the night before I handed in my resignation I couldn't sleep and tossed and turned thinking if I would actually go through with it. Here we are 8 years later: Rob joined the business FT 6 years ago, we have the best team in the biz (Auntie Bekah and Auntie Kelly), and we have cared for 100s of dogs over the years. Through this business we have raised many good boys and girls and met many amazing people who are not just our clients but some of our very good friends. It is because of you that we were able to rebuild after the pandemic forced us to close and start the business from scratch, that we continue to have the business we do, and have such a great community of like minded dog lovers. We are are eternally grateful for you, your fur baby/babies and your continued support. With much love and thanks , Auntie Helga, Uncle Rob, and Poyo

HOWLOWEEN THROWBACK

A couple weeks ago a lovely reporter from @thetorontostar @jessicadeehumphreys found me via #libertypooch and asked if the girl in the this Toronto Star archive article was me. Keep in mind she has never met me, because I'm sure all of you who have are thinking the same thing: SHE LOOKS THE SAME. Yes, I'm sadly aware that I still look like the chubby 9 year old version of myself *sigh*. It brought back many fond memories of my cousin Ava and I, as well as my childhood growing up as a first generation immigrant in the burbs. It also made me reflect back and realize why I love to celebrate every single holiday: wanting to belong, acceptance, and finding joy in everything. Thank-you so much for writing such a lovely article and reminding me of some good times @jessicadeehumphreys
