TORONTO DOG WALKER: MY NEW DOG WALKING BOOTS

SOREL Women’s Caribou Boot (Retail $200)

SOREL Women’s Caribou Boot (Retail $200)

The best dog boots for dog walking  (IMHO)

First, I’m going to start with the ones I DID NOT LIKE.

Sorels are probably the most popular brand of winter boots in Canada.  I have owned two pairs and both pairs have FAILED me as dog walking boots.

The first pair I purchased was your standard Women’s Caribou Boot (retail $200)

REASONS WHY I STOPPED WEARING THESE BOOTS:

  • Hard to take on and off (as a dog walker I take my boots on and off every time I pick up and drop off a dog)

  • Heavy

  • Stiff heel on the boot gave me blisters

  • Did not keep my feet warm

The second pair I purchased were the Sorel Tivoli II Blanket Boot (retail $220).  I bought them at Nordstrom Rack in the US for half price.

WHAT I LIKED ABOUT THESE BOOTS:

·       Easy to slip on and off

·       Good for wide feet

·       Did not cause blisters

·       Lightweight

REASONS WHY I STOPPED WEARING THESE BOOTS:

·       Not waterproof as advertised – leaving with me wet cold feet

·       The insole wore away quickly and had to be replaced

FINALLY….WHAT I’M WEARING THIS SEASON

CROCS Allcast II Nubuck Winter Boots (retail $120)

For the longest time Crocs were like my green eggs and ham:  I would not wear the atrocious clogs, I would not wear the ugly sandals, and I would never wear their attempt at dress shoes.  Boots, however, Boots make sense.  I tried on a pair of their Allcast II Nubuck Winter Boots at DSW and was sold.  They retail for $120, but are on sale at DSW for $59.98.

REASONS I LOVE THIS BOOT:

·       Super Comfortable (you feel like you are wearing Croc’s trademark clogs)

·       Easy to get on and off

·       Waterproof

·       Lightweight

·       Warm

·       Price point

**NOTE: ORDER at least 1 size bigger – They Fit SMALL

They have 23 left on the DSW website, so order them NOW!  They will deliver for free if you sign up for their free membership club.
